Every decision you make is a choice.
The actions you take, the way you feel and the way you behave.
All the decisions you make every day shapes your life.
Are you choosing to feel afraid instead of confident? Tired instead of energized. Worrying instead of taking action.
You are responsible for your life.
It is down to you to make the right choice.
There is no magic wand.
Only you are at the helm so it is down to you to steer your ship in the right direction.
This is where you might question whether you are actually at the helm of your ship or allowing your choices to be influenced by others and realising you are living to please someone else.
Are you making choices based on what others think of you, what others, particularly parents, expect of you?
If that answers is yes, then it’s time to put a stop to that and begin making choices for yourself.
If you are imaging your life in a different way, what needs to happen in order for you take the first step towards it?
It is up to you to make the decision for you to either stay in your current situation or select a different option.
I see it as choosing to settle for your current lot, or choosing to take the road less travelled to create the future you want.
What needs to happen for you in order for you to reach where you want to go?
Stepping back from that, are you clear about what you want?
Are you even enjoying life on the way?
If you’re looking around comparing yourself to others wishing you had this or that in your life, look at what you can learn from those people. How can you begin creating your own life in such a way that it suits you? And only you!
You can choose the easy every day life, or the more topsy turvy one running your own show?
The one with the highs and lows, difficult decisions, tough choices and challenges, being busy, short of time, not knowing what’s next, etc.
Haven’t I just described easy everyday life?
Life is full of ups and downs regardless of what path you choose.
Nobody knows what’s next.
That is the beauty in the gift of life we’ve been given.
Reframe your thoughts;
Your fear into excitement.
Your worry into a challenge you’re capable of rising to.
Your tiredness into looking after yourself and re-energising.
If you set out on a quest to make the most of life and choose what you want to happen in it, i.e. who you spend time with, what you do for a living, your experiences and the possessions you own, then it is down to you to consciously create it.
